I’ve had several people reach out with a thoughtful question:
“If you’re elected, what happens to the Sheriff’s Office?”
First, I want to sincerely say thank you. That question comes from a place of care, and I’m grateful to serve in a county where people truly value our public servants.
If elected as County Treasurer, I will of course be stepping into a new role – but I want to reassure everyone that the San Saba County Sheriff’s Office will continue to be served by a capable, dedicated team. The Sheriff’s Office is built on strong people, strong procedures, and a mission that doesn’t depend on any one person alone.
One thing I’ve worked hard to do in my current role is help strengthen consistency through better documentation and standard operating procedures, so that important work can continue smoothly regardless of who sits in the chair. That kind of stability matters in every county office.
I also want to be transparent about something: my decision to run for County Treasurer wasn’t sudden. This has been a thoughtful conversation for some time – well before I began working at the Sheriff’s Office. Over the past few years, I’ve expressed a strong interest in responsible financial stewardship and in ensuring our county’s tax dollars are handled with the highest level of professionalism, accountability, and transparency.
I care deeply about this community and the people who serve it. This campaign is not about leaving service – it’s about continuing service in a role where I can help strengthen the county as a whole.
Thank you again for your support and your trust.
